The Winery

Ackerman Winery has the distinct honor of being the oldest winery owned and operated by one family in the state of Iowa. Located in the historic Amana Colonies, Ackerman Winery brings three generations of experience to producing quality, award-winning wines. Since 1990, they have won over 300 awards in national and international competitions.

Originally nestled under a centurdy old grape arbor in scenic South Amana, Ackerman Winery relocated to the main village of Amana in 2001. We are now proud to offer our guests a self-guided walk through tour of our cellar, and the opportunity to observe where the wines are produced, aged and bottled. Steop up to the sample bar and choose from over 24 varieties of wines. We have many unique fruit, berry and vegetable wines such as dandelion and rhubarb, as well as traditional red and white tablewines.

Our bright, sapcious, handicapped-accessible gift shop area is a delight for any shopper. We carry a wide variety of quality gifts including a complete line of authentic German beer steins, hundreds of wine racks, wine glasses and a wine variety of wine accessories.
